LA-by-way-of-Phoenix-based duo Bogan Via’s LP Tough to Kill – aka all your electro indie-pop dreams realized – is set to drop tomorrow, and I am so excited about it! I would equate this flawless synth pop album to a bowl of delicious rainbow sherbet for your ears.
It’s bubble-gum pop for grown-ups – just as much fun to chew on, but with an adult sound and mature themes that echo CHVRCHES-meets-Depeche Mode-meets-The Lumineers. The tunes featured on the track range in key, but with the same consistently solid harmonizing vocals throughout. More upbeat tracks like my personal fav, “Videos” will have you swaying your head at your work station or full-out busting a move in your underwear at home. Other, more somber tracks like “Love I Bleed” will touch you, make you feel.
I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll leave you with my aforementioned favorite gem off the album. Don’t forget to stream the full LP tomorrow, and follow the duo on Twitter @BoganViaMusic. Happy listening!
